Thousands of years ago, dogs hunted and scavenged for food and shelter, and were exposed to a diverse mix of other animals and external elements. But with the majority of dog owners living in urban living environments, today’s dogs are more prone to developing allergies thanks to smaller family units and less exposure to other animals.
